Commercial Film (still and motion) permits cost $263 per day, or for any portion of a day. Additional fees may be required for Streets and Public Place Use permitting or "Commercial Filming in Progress" sign stands. Film permit fees will be waived if rental fees have been paid for the public place being used for the shoot.
After receiving the application, the Town will provide information about conditions or additional requirements and paying the permit fee by phone or in person at Town Hall.
Applications for Film Permits must be received at least 7 days in advance of shooting for small productions and at least 30 days in advance for large productions.
Film permits will NOT be issued by the Town of Banff for any weekend between the May long weekend and the September long weekend (inclusive), nor for any other long weekend in the year, for any production involving any vehicle or pedestrian traffic disruptions or parking disruptions.

Town of Banff requires a certificate of insurance in the amount of $2 million general liability naming "Town of Banff" and "Her Majesty the Queen, in Right of Canada, as represented by the Minister of Environment for the purpose of the Parks Canada Agency" as additional insured.
