In partnership with the Bow Valley Harmony Project, Banff and Lake Louise Hospitality Association (BLLHA) is presenting a 3-hour Bystander Intervention Training session. Participants will explore the root causes of sexual violence, learn about consent, policies, and legal obligations to address sexual harassment. This workshop will also highlight factors that may prevent people from intervening, strategies to address harassment that empowers the person who is experiencing harassment and focuses on the roles of bystanders in the workplace and community. 2. Residential School Presentation: Scars to Stars

    @

Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies

Angus Cockney, a long-time Bow Valley resident, is a 13-year Residential School Survivor who was also orphaned at age eight. His presentation, "Scars and Stars," outlines that life is not without its scars. However, by sharing his story, he inspires others to move forward; in other words, one needs to feed their destiny more than their history. Please join the Whyte Museum and Angus Cockney on September 29th at 7 p.m. as we prepare for a day of reflection on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30). This presentation is in person at the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are free. Online registration is encouraged.
