  1. Plein Air Workshop with Calgary artists Mark Holiday and Aaron Sidorenko

    July 17, 2021, 10:00 AM - July 18, 2021, 5:00 PM @ Whyte Museum

    Join the Whyte Museum for a 2-day painting workshop along the Bow River in Banff! Workshop sessions will take place on the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies grounds. Mark and Aaron will provide participants with fun and informative guidance for plein air and encaustic processes. Nakoda Historian and Knowledge Keeper Buddy Wesley will talk about the history and importance of Banff to the Stoney Nakoda People. Mark and Aaron will host an informal conversation with questions and answers with Buddy around a fire on the Whyte Museum grounds. The Museum grounds has impressive river and mountain views and is home to a number of different plant life and buildings. Saturday and Sunday July 17 and 18 from 10am-5pm.

  1. National Drowning Prevention Week

    July 18, 2021 - July 24, 2021

    The Lifesaving Society designates the third week in July as National Drowning Prevention Week to focus community and media attention on the drowning problem and drowning prevention. The third week in July has traditionally been the week that sees the most drownings throughout the year. Water Safety and Drowning Prevention messaging from the Lifesaving Society will be posted on our website at banff.ca/active, Facebook page and on our Instagram page. Login everyday to learn more.
