Town Mask Bylaw reviewed June 28
On July 1, Alberta moves to Stage 3 of the Reopen for Summer Plan, with the removal of almost all provincial COVID restrictions. The requirement to wear masks in the workplace in shares space will be removed by Alberta Health.
Banff Town Council will review its temporary mandatory mask bylaw on Monday, June 28, examining options for changes, such as:
- Remove the Town bylaw that requires masks be worn inside and outside in the downtown core and Banff Avenue; or
- Remove a portion of the Town bylaw, such as the outdoor requirement; or
- Retain the Town bylaw, for review at a later date.
Banff Town Council will review the current statistics on cases in Banff, vaccine rates in Banff, cases in other neighbouring regions, and input received from residents, businesses and medical professionals as part of their decision.
