Bylaw 406 - Land Use Bylaw Amending Bylaw - Notification Sign and Public Outreach Requirements for Development Permit Applications
Date of Hearing: Monday, January 28, 2019
Place of Hearing: Banff Town Hall Council Chamber, 110 Bear Street, Banff
Time of Hearing: 2 p.m.

Bylaw 406
The purpose of Bylaw 406 is to include public outreach requirements for certain development permit application types, and include requirements about the development application notification sign installation. These requirements would include:
  • Signs are located at the front of the property within 2m from a front or side lot line, and readable from a public roadway (not including a lane)
  • Signs are free-standing or fixed to hoarding/fencing, not attached to any trees

Submitting Your Comments
A Public Hearing provides an opportunity for members of the public to provide feedback to Council on a proposed bylaw. Any member of the public may submit comments to Council at the public hearing, either in writing, in person or both.

Speak at the Meeting
To register in advance to speak, call 403.762.1209. Notices of verbal presentations received prior to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 will be included in the agenda. People who have registered in advance are heard first. At the meeting, you will have the option of having your name added to the list of speakers. Presentation time is limited to five minutes for each speaker. 

Provide Written Comments
Digital written submissions are encouraged. Written submission received by 12 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 will be included in the agenda package for the meeting. Written submissions received after this date but before the close of the public hearing will be provided to council at the public hearing. There is also a call for written submissions at the time of the public hearing. Send your written submissions to:
