Council gave first reading to the Parking Initiatives Petition Bylaw 340 and scheduled another special meeting for Monday, September 29 to give further consideration to the bylaw. The bylaw is in response to the petition that seeks to end the user pay parking trial and the use of license plate recognition technology for data collection and enforcement. As part of the process, public input was received at the meeting. Sixteen residents spoke about the bylaw and 11 written submissions were received.
