A fire ban is in effect in the Town of Banff, in coordination with Parks Canada implementing a fire ban for Banff National Park due to elevated fire danger.
Vegetation within the park remains extremely dry despite the small amounts of precipitation and lower temperatures the recent days.
Not allowed:
X Wood burning campfires
X Charcoal, briquette, or wood barbecues
X Outdoor wood burning stove
X Turkey fryers
X Tiki torches
Allowed:
- Gas or propane stoves and barbeques
- Propane or gas lanterns
- Patio heaters (propane, catalytic or infrared/radiant)
- Indoor wood burning stoves within fully enclosed permanent buildings
- Portable propane firepits
- Candles
