As a Community Champion you will use your strong connections to the community, and your cultural group, to help newcomers settle and integrate successfully in Banff. You can make a difference in the life of someone who may be new to Canada or Banff. You will be trained to help newcomers connect to information on language, culture, social and recreational opportunities, affordability, health services, and much more. You will be provided with an easy-to-understand resource guide to share with newcomers, and promote referrals to the Town of Banff Community Services for an orientation to resources and services available in the community.
Apply by February 8, 2021
Training and orientation starts soon. Community Champions will provide outreach services during February and March 2021. The goal for each volunteer is to reach and refer at least 10-15 individuals or families who have not accessed support from the Town of Banff Community Services. Community Champions will be paid an honorarium in two installments, $500 at the start and $500 in April when outreach services are completed.*
