BANFF AB - 3:30 p.m. Here's the latest road update from Parks Canada:

NEW: HIGHWAY 93 SOUTH has reopened from Radium Hot Springs to Castle Junction (at the Trans-Canada Highway) for non-commercial transportation vehicles (passenger vehicles and buses) only.

BANFF to CANMORE: The Trans-Canada Highway between Banff and Canmore is open to emergency, maintenance and service vehicles and to the Roam shuttle bus only at this time. We’re working on reopening the highway to the general public as soon as possible, though flood impact assessment on the Carrot Creek bridges is ongoing. Visitor safety remains our number one priority. Estimated time of reopening for other vehicles remains unknown.

ICEFIELDS PARKWAY (93 NORTH) remains closed in both directions from Lake Louise to Saskatchewan Crossing due to mudslides. Estimated time of reopening still to be determined. Updates to follow.

GOLDEN TO BANFF: The Trans-Canada Highway between Banff and Golden remains open in both directions to passenger vehicles and tour buses ONLY. No commercial vehicles (semi, 18-wheelers, transport trucks) except those making deliveries to the communities of Field, Lake Louise, Banff and commercial accommodations (hotels, hostels, bed & breakfasts, restaurants, etc) are allowed at this time.

Emergency Childcare – Banff School-Aged Children for the week of June 24-28
The Town is encouraging Banff families to network with family, friends and neighbours to arrange for school-aged childcare for the last week of June. Email if you requirr emergency childcare: “emergency” is defined as a lack of childcare provided by family, friends or neighbours. The start of Summer Fun programming will remain as July 2.

Roam shuttle service
Roam bus shuttle service is expected to run again Sunday and the following days, offering hourly service between Banff and Canmore. This is for stranded employees only and visitors heading west of Banff. Currently, there is no travel east beyond Canmore. The bus picks up at Banff High School on the hour and at Canmore Collegiate on the half hour, starting at 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Last ride from Banff is 6 p.m. today and tomorrow. Last ride from Canmore is 6:30 p.m. today and tomorrow. The bus service is free. Roam is the public transit system for Bow Valley and Banff.

Situation Update #12 - Roam regional service

BANFF, AB - 9 a.m. Roam bus service between Banff and Canmore will operate again today, Saturday, June 22. The bus is for Banff and Canmore residents stranded in either community, and for people travelling west. The first bus leaves Banff at 10 a.m. at the Banff High School. The first pick up in Canmore is 10:30 a.m. Last bus leaving Banff is 6 p.m. Last bus leaving Canmore is 6:30 p.m.


Banff High School departures: 10 am; 11 am; 12 noon, 1 pm; 2 pm; 3 pm; 4 pm; 5 pm; 6 pm.
Canmore Collegiate departures: 10:30 am; 11:30 am; 12:30 pm; 1:30 pm; 2:30 pm; 3:30 pm; 4:30 pm; 5:30 pm; 6:30 pm.

The bus is free of charge. Travellers are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from either of the high schools.

We anticipate the bus service to continue Sunday and the following days as long as the highway is closed to regular traffic, or highway conditions change. Continue to check, or for updates.

River Conditions
Flood Warning still in effect. River levels have dropped. However, roads and pathways along the Bow River in the Town of Banff remain closed. Bow Ave. closed. Birch Ave. closed. Bow Falls Road closed. Recreation Grounds closed. High water remains in low lying area. Please obey all closures and STAY AWAY FROM THE BOW RIVER.

DIsplaced Residents
Evacuation still in effect. Displaced residents of the Rocky Mountain Housing Cooperative may not return to their homes until further notice. It's unlikely that residents will be able to return home today. Please contact the reception centre at 403.760.2423 to register and if you require assistance. Updates will be posted to this website when the situation changes.

Latest Highway Update from Parks Canada
The Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy #1) is open in both directions between Golden and Banff to private passenger vehicles and tour buses ONLY.

No commercial vehicles (semi, 18-wheelers, transport trucks) except those making deliveries to the communities of Field, Lake Louise, Banff and commercial accommodations (hotels, hostels, bed & breakfasts, restaurants, etc) are allowed at this time.

Motorists are encouraged to consult the DriveBC website for road conditions west and south of Golden.

*** IMPORTANT - The Trans-Canada Highway eastbound from Banff remains closed until further notice. ***

Motorist can only get to Banff at this time. There is not estimated time of when motorist will be able to proceed east of the Town of Banff.

Parks Canada is making every effort to reestablish regular traffic flow. However, due to the continued rainfall, no estimated time of reopening for the below listed roads is not available.

Trans-Canada Highway—both directions between the Norquay interchange and Canmore is reserved for emergency vehicles and the Roam bus.Engineers are still assessing bridge safety.

A number of highways in the mountain national parks remained closed due to heavy precipitation causing flooding and mudslides. There is no estimated time of reopening for any of the roads listed below.

Highway 93S—the Banff-Radium Highway—from Castle Junction to Radium.

Highway 93N (the Icefields Parkway)—from Lake Louise to Saskatchewan Crossing.

Highway 1A (Bow valley Parkway)— in its entirety from Banff to Lake Louise

Minnewanka Loop— in its entirety

Sunshine Road— in its entirety

Lake O'Hara Road (in Yoho National Park)

Given persistent rain, there is no estimated time of road reopening at any of the aforementioned locations.
