MountainLIFE - 31+

Connect, explore and play in Banff’s MountainLIFE programs. MountainLIFE is designed for adults aged 31 and up that want to connect with their peers, get outdoors and enjoy mountain life to the fullest.

Upcoming Programs

Scrambling Skills Weekend 
Learn route finding, group management and rope skills for easy peak scrambles. On the second day we will climb a peak with 4th class terrain, using our new skills to keep us safe. Climbing equipment is included. Transportation is not included. MountainLife programs are generously supported by the Pauw Foundation and are for Banff residents only.

July 11 & 12

Via Ferrata
Italian for Iron Road, via ferrata is an easy way to safely explore the mountains. A guide will lead you along and up the 180m rock face while you’re attached to the iron cable and bolts fixed into the side of a mountain. This trip is a fun way to try out climbing. No previous experience required. Transportation is NOT include. MountainLIFE programs are generously supported by the Pauw Foundation and are for Banff residents only.

August 8
$10 per person


BanffLIFE - 18-30

These programs are specifically and exclusively for local young adults (18 to 30 years old). You must be living in Banff National Park to participate in any of these programs. Special equipment is typically provided, most trips are introductory and no prior experience is necessary.

Intro to Rock Climbing 
Learn the basics of rock climbing from some of the best guides in the area. This course will provide the gear you need, safety procedures, hazard identification, rock movement, rope work, belaying and lowering on top climbs.
