Banff Gallery Hop

The Banff Gallery Hop takes place one Saturday each month from 2-6 p.m. Offering a gateway into Banff National Park’s unique arts, culture and heritage experiences, there is something new to discover every month. Jump on the Gallery Hop bus to get around the event with ease - it departs from the Whyte Museum every 30 minutes during event times.

Buffalo Nations Museum - Conversation with Elders from 2 – 4 pm about how life changed from youth to current times. Be curious, ask questions, and open your hearts to their knowledge, grace, and gratitude. Admission ½ price during Gallery Hop.
Canada House Gallery – Come chat with the artist and explore the world of Susie Cipolla. This rural BC artist gets close and personal with her subjects as they pass through her land, watching grizzly cubs grow and hungry black bears feast on dandelions.

Carter-Ryan Gallery - RABBITS ARE EVERYWHERE. Highly anticipated, dozens of rabbit sculptures will fill the gallery, each one revealing its own unique stone: alabaster, wonder stone, Canadian soapstone, chlorite and Indian Fusion soapstone.

Historic Luxton Home - Family and Friends at the Luxton Home. It’s Easter, and a time for visiting. The Luxton’s created 90-years of memories and legacies in Banff, learn more about these intriguing uniquely minded people from family and friends who knew them. Sip a cup of tea from the Banff Tea Company, wander the home, and hear stories of actual events that took place.

Mountain Galleries (Fairmont Banff Springs) - interact with Artist-In-Residence painter Corrine Wolcoski. Inspired by the West Coast she is affected by its many incredible cloud formations, her paintings are a direct response to the silent beauty of light penetrating darkness, bringing calm to all it envelops.

Walter Phillips Gallery (Banff Centre) - tour the newly installed exhibit Carry Forward. The term “carry forward” suggests passing or transferring something on to the next generation, yet also refers to taking account of gains and loss. This exhibit that brings together artworks that propose different modes of understanding how realities are registered, contested, and even fabricated. Open 12:30 – 6:00. Guided tour at 2:00pm.

Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies – Join artist Laara Cassells at 3pm for a tour as she speaks to her captivating work featured in the exhibition Laara Cassells _after. Laara will remain until 5 to speak with visitors. Ask questions and find out why she uses digital reference material and live models to unite past eras with current contemporary culture. Admission is only $7 during Gallery Hop!
Willock & Sax Gallery – ...And Victory Goes To The Flowers - after the lengthy winter cold stretches in Western Canada the rebirth of spring is always completely welcome. We present a grouping of flowers to embrace the glory of spring – including ceramic works by Ruth Chambers, oil paintings by Banff artist Susan Elkins, and watercolours by D. Helen Mackie.
