Skills & Drills Sessions 
 If your teenager is excited to get back into sports and wants to work on their fitness and skill development, then have them join the Town’s Sports Skills & Drills sessions. These sessions will have your teen get active and finetune their skills. Individual drill sessions and play will help bring their game to the next level. All genders and abilities. For Ages 12 - 18 years. 

Programs can be found under the Children and Youth or the Free Sports and Recreation tabs on our registration page.

Babysitter Certification 
Babysitting care giving skills for youth 11 - 17 years old. Participants learn how to provide care to children in a variety of age groups, and how to prevent and respond to emergencies. The course also offers youth the skills to promote themselves as babysitters to prospective families. This is a Red Cross program. 

Students will learn:

  • How to be responsible and demonstrate leadership
  • How to make good decisions and manage difficult behaviours
  • Information on children’s developmental stages, and specific strategies for each stage
  • How to feed, diaper, dress, and play with children and babies
  • How to recognize and prevent unsafe situations, make safe choices and promote safe behaviours
  • First aid skills
  • The business of babysitting

Kids Art In-Person
Do you have a young artist in your home that can paint and create all day? This session introduces kids to acrylic painting, colour mixing and drawing fundamentals of woodland creatures of the park. It’s a fun and nurturing environment where kids have the opportunity to paint on canvas and illustrate on multimedia paper. Open to all genders and abilities.  Ages 6 - 9.

Youth Art In-Person
These art sessions are based on using acrylic paints as a primary medium. Exploring landscapes, abstract and multimedia design students will learn valuable techniques that they can apply to their canvases and create stunning works of art. Open to all genders and abilities. Ages 10 - 17.

Youth Yoga 
Now more than ever kids need a positive outlet where they can create a peaceful state of mind. Youth Yoga promotes positive body image, healthy thoughts and builds confidence in our abilities. The great part of a yoga practice is how it compliments all our other activities and instills a non-competitive environment. The perfect after school wind down from the week! Open to all genders and abilities. Ages 10 - 17.
