Cross country

The Town of Banff offers a wide variety of active living and wellness programs for Bow Valley residents. This includes, fitness and yoga classes, first aid certification programs and more.  These classes are for those 16 and older.

Barre and Mat Work
Barre and mat work is a fitness class inspired by ballet, Pilates and yoga. The Barre movement is dance-based and set to music with an emphasis on body alignment, repetition and isometric movements. Mat work will have you toning your core and upper and lower body. Your instructor will have you finishing class with flexibility work and stretching. Chairs, light weights, bands and sliders will be used as props. Open to all genders and abilities.

Motivated Movement Fitness
This full body fitness class includes cardio, strength, agility and flexibility that will leave you feeling fit and strong for all your adventures in the mountains. Join our certified instructor for a fun and motivating workout that includes, body and free weight movements. Open to all genders and abilities.

Outdoor Pursuits

Cross-Country Skiing
These beginner trips are perfect for Banffites like you that have some cross-country ski experience but need that quick refresher or a few quick tips and tricks to get to the next level. These sessions are also a great way to meet other locals, community instructors and learn about more area trails and where to find up to date trail reports. Through a series of different skill building activities, the certified guide will have you learning how to turn, stop, glide and hill climb.

Full Moon Cross-Country Ski
