Sports Hall of Fame

The Banff Sports Hall of Fame honours Banff’s premier athletes, sport and mountain leisure pioneers and builders in Banff National Park.
The mission of the Banff Sports Hall of Fame is threefold:
- to honour individuals from Banff National Park who have distinguished themselves in sport and mountain leisure
- to assist in the development of future contribution to athletic pursuits
- to promote our inductees to both residents and visitors of Banff National Park
A display honouring the inductees for residents and visitors to enjoy is currently located in the main foyer of the Banff Park Lodge, located at 222 Lynx Street in Banff. The Board of Directors thanks the Banff Park Lodge for its support in hosting the exhibit. The Hall of Fame will move to its permanent home at The Fenlands, Banff Recreation Centre shortly.
Hall of Fame categories are:
- Athlete: direct participant in sport or mountain leisure
- Builder: conducting athletes in a leadership capacity... coach, trainer, manager, official, administrator, etc.
- Pioneer: athletes or builders that made a significant impact on the development of sport within Banff National Park more than fifty years before the current date
