Bow Avenue directional change
Effective immediately, Bow Avenue one-way travel runs from Buffalo to Wolf Street (south to north). Buffalo Street from Bear Street to Bow Avenue reverts to two-way traffic.

Bear Street Woonerf
Grand opening of the Bear Street Woonerf is June 5. Bear Street from Wolf Street to Caribou Street becomes a shared street, and the Bear Street surface lot becomes the new home of the Banff Farmers Market on Wednesdays. Local, two-way traffic permitted at reduced speed of 20 kph. Watch for pedestrians and cyclists.

Effective June 1
  • No stopping, no parking at any time on Buffalo Street in front of Canada Post
  • All downtown surface lots on Bear, Beaver and Wolf streets, and Central Park, 3 hours maximum, no return within four hours
  • Bear Street Parkade, 2 hours maximum on level 1, 8 hours maximum on other levels
  • Cascade Mall Parkade, 8 hours maximum
  • Bow Avenue, 8 hours maximum, no RVs, no parking between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Effective June 27 to August 23
  • High school parking lot open for public parking, 8 hour maximum
  • Elementary school parking on Elk Street open for public and RV parking, 8 hour maximum

Unless otherwise posted, all downtown on-street parking, and the west side of Beaver Street in the 100 and 200 blocks, is two hours maximum. All parking time limits vigorously enforced.

Help reduce congestion and the parking shortfall. Bike, walk or Roam to work and play. It’s just easier.
