Recreation Grounds Redevelopment Project
Rec Grounds planRedevelopment Plan
The Banff Recreation Grounds Redevelopment Plan was adopted by council on March 23, 2015. It is a guiding document that will help determine redevelopment at the recreation grounds for the next five to 10 years.

Skateboard Park Redevelopment
One of the recommendations in the redevelopment plan is to build a permanent skateboard park to replace the temporary park currently at the recreation grounds.

Outcomes from the Recreation Facilities Master Plan in 2013 recommended the town hire a consulting team to develop a site specific plan for the Recreation Grounds. The plan was led by ISL Engineering and Land Services.

Multiple surveys were conducted along with meetings with key stakeholders leading up to the development of concept plans. On September 30, 2014, three concept options for the site were presented at an open house at The Fenlands, showing potential new and upgraded amenities and site arrangements, developed taking all public feedback into consideration.

A second open house on the redevelopment project was held November 26, 2014 at The Fenlands, where the draft redevelopment plan was first presented to the public. Feedback was gathered at the open house, and an online survey on the draft plan was held. That feedback was used to help develop the final plan, which was adopted by council on March 23, 2015.
