Banff's Special Events

  1. Wildfire Emergency Exercise

    May 8, All Day

The Town of Banff is partnering with Parks Canada on May 8 to conduct a full-day emergency exercise based on a wildfire approaching the town. The exercise will include command centre training, based in the Fire Hall and Town Hall, and first responders visiting all homes on the south side of the river. All residents and businesses should prepare for wildfire by signing up for the emergency alert at banff.ca/Alert. The Town will test the alert system on May 8. Be aware of the first responders going door-to-door and the extra vehicles in south-side neighbourhoods during the exercise. Create your evacuation plan and emergency kit by visiting banff.ca/emergency.
