  1. Drawn to Nature

    March 6, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM @ Banff Public Library

    Participants of all ages and levels of experience are invited to sketch and draw during Banff Centre’s free ongoing beginner-level drawing class: Drawn to Nature. Join esteemed Teaching Artist in Residence Janice Tanton and explore different drawing and mark-making techniques using various materials and supplies in this facilitated class. All classes encourage artistic exploration and conversation about the ways in which we interact with the cultural and geological landscapes of Banff National Park.

    The Banff Centre and the Banff Public Library present this popular series of drawing workshops. Explore still-life drawing in an informal art class led by staff and guest artists. All ages and levels of experience are welcome. Sessions are free with all materials provided.

    Flow Yoga is a traditional approach to yoga that encourages breathing, flexibility, strength and vitality in the body while calming the mind. For ages 16+. This class is held Wednesday at The Fenlands from January 9-March 27. Free.

    Children 2-6 are invited, along with their parents, caregivers or family members to participate in a half hour drop-in program. Each week a new theme is explored that features related stories, songs, rhymes and finder plays.

    Children 0-2 are invited along with their parents, caregivers, and/or family members to participate in a half hour drop-in program that includes rhymes and rhythms, bouncing, active songs, finger plays and stories. This program promotes early language development and positive child/adult interactions and bonding.

  10. The Basement – Youth Drop-in

    March 6, 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM @ Banff Canmore Community Foundation

    The Basement is a new youth drop-in centre below the Banff Canmore Community Foundation. It’s a space where youth can hang out, play games, do homework, work on art projects, create music, or just socialize. There are board games, foosball, shuffleboard, instruments, books, WiFi and a popcorn machine. There will be weekly activities – rock climbing, skateboarding, bowling and more. Healthy snacks available daily. This program is generously supported by the Pauw Foundation. For Grades 7-10.

  11. Drop-in Public Swimming

    March 6, 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM @ Sally Borden Building, Banff Centre

    The Sally Borden Building at the Banff Centre is home to a 25-metre pool, hot tub, wading pool and steam room. Lifejackets are provided at no charge. You can rent towels, purchase swim diapers and other aquatic accessories. Public swimming is supported in part by the Town of Banff. Pool schedules are subject to change.
