Immerse yourself in the magic of winter and let the snow fly! Just over a century ago (1917), the first Banff Winter Carnival kicked off with great fanfare and enthusiasm, much to the delight of locals and visitors alike. The original Winter Carnival faded into memory long ago, but in Banff the spirit of winter fun lives on! The Banff Winter Carnival Returns to the Cave and Basin National Historic Site this year with fun winter activities for all ages.
January 5, 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM @ Banff Public Library
Stop by the Banff Public Library every Saturday and play, sing songs and tell stories. This program is for children 0-6 years of age and their parents. Snacks are provided. No registration required.
January 5, 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM @ Banff Elementary School
Join us on Saturdays throughout the school year to provide your little ones opportunities to meet friends, have active play, and ‘motor’ around the gymnasium. Parent participation is required. For ages 1 – 3.
January 5, 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM @ Banff Public Library
Stop by the Banff Public Library for an hour of creative crafts, exciting activities and invigorating reading materials. Ages 4-7 are welcome from 1-2 p.m. and ages 8-12 are welcome from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Spots guaranteed to the first 15 participants.

Drop-in Public Skating is open to everyone. Helmets are required for children 12 and under and recommended for all skaters.
January 5, 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM @ The Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre
Drop-in Sticks & Pucks is unstructured ice time for all ages. Work on stick handling or just have fun on the ice. Helmets and gloves are required.
