Bylaw Services
Bylaw ServicesBylaw Services is available to help you from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week.

The overall focus of Bylaw Services is to work to ensure high levels of compliance with our local bylaws and several provincial statutes. See The Town of Banff's Frequently Requested Bylaws.

We also look after:
For most neighbourhood issues, we encourage and offer assistance for neighbours to collaboratively find solutions and generally seek compliance before enforcement.

Spring 2015:
  • April is speed enforcement month, and Bylaw Services is putting an extra focus on speed limit violations in town. The majority of Banff is 40km/h, but it does reduce to 30km/h in school and playground zones. If you think speeding vehicles are a problem in your neighbourhood, you can request to have the speed trailer set up on your street by contacting bylaw at 403.762.1218. Learn more about the Alberta Traffic Safety Plan and the Alberta Traffic Safety Plan Calendar (PDF).
  • If you're moving out of town, don't dump your furniture or appliances by garbage bins. Not only is it illegal, but it's also and an eyesore. The Town of Banff offers a free and convenient Large Item Pick-up service for residents. Book your pick-up early to make sure staff can get your unwanted large items before you leave town.

To request service, please use the Action Request form.
