Does a blue heritage plaque on a property mean that it’s legally protected?
No. The Town of Banff administers a heritage plaques program to showcase significant people, places and events in the town’s history. All listed heritage properties on the Town’s inventory are eligible to have a blue plaque installed, but a plaque doesn’t indicate legal protection under a municipal historic resource designation.
