SnowDays Festival

Thursday, January 18

The annual SnowDays Festival is a highlight of the winter season in Banff. This free, 11-day long celebration, is centered around massive snow sculptures in downtown Banff.

The annual SnowDays festival is a highlight of the winter season in Banff National Park -- a free 11-day long celebration in January, centered around 10 massive snow sculptures in downtown Banff. Occurring at the same time as the Ice Magic Festival in Lake Louise, you’ll have plenty of winter creations to explore throughout the park. Don't miss these two special events during SnowDays:

ALL-CANADIAN SKATE PARTIES
January 19 - 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. and January 20 - 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Winnipeg's DJ Hunnicutt and DJ Co-op are your hosts for a family-friendly skate party at the Banff High School field (the corner of Wolf and Banff Ave.)

SNOW SCULPTURE CELEBRATION
January 20 - 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Visitors and locals alike will be cheering on the snow sculptors as they finish their masterpieces in the Bear Street festival area. People can keep warm next to the bonfires and dance the night away to the sounds of DJ Hunnicutt and DJ Co-op.

Three sculptures (including a 20-foot tall snowman) will be built in Banff Avenue Square. Six will be built on Bear Street - one of Banff's restaurant and shopping hubs. The final one will be on the corner of Bear Street and Lynx Street.

*Please note that event schedules are subject to change without notice.

Road Closure
Bear Street will be closed between the entrance of the Brewster’s Mountain Lodge parkade and the 200 block parking lot starting Monday, January 15. The street will re-open on Tuesday, January 29. Access to the 200 block parking lot and Brewster’s Mountain Lodge parking will not be affected.
