Open House: Cannabis Use in Our Community

Thursday, March 21

Six months after the legalization of cannabis, important questions are emerging among helping agencies, Human Services professionals, and residents of the Bow Valley as they navigate this new reality. Please join the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital to discuss the implications of this new context surrounding cannabis use, and how they shape existing efforts to foster healthy communities.

Of the sessions below, you will have the opportunity to attend two. All sessions will run concurrently for 20-minutes, and repeat once more. During your sessions, you will be part of an intimate group learning from our subject experts with the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue.

There will be a central location to post notes including questions and notions related to the material discussed in your sessions. These will be drawn upon to conclude the event where the audience will come back together for a panel discussion. This is a place for positive, judgment-free inquiry, dialogue and education.

Subject Experts
Dr. Peter Baylis, PhD - Clinical Supervisor, Bow Valley Mental Health
Dr. Dino Smiljic, Md - Physician, Bear Street Clinic
Cpl. Angela Spicer - RCMP, Banff Detatchment
