Banff's Special Events

  1. Open House on Draft Recreation Master Plan

    November 26, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ The Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre

    The draft Banff Recreation Grounds Redevelopment Plan, draft Trails Master Plan, and draft Recreation Programs and Services Master Plan will be presented at The Fenlands on Wednesday, Nov. 26 from 6-9 p.m. The Town of Banff is seeking public feedback on these three plans at this open house.

  2. Christmas Craft & Bake Sale

  1. Avalanche Skills Training (AST) Level 1

    November 24, 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM @ Meeting Room 1 at The Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre

    This Mountain Adventure Program is available to young adults (18 - 30 years), living and working in the Bow Valley. Take your safety into your own hands. This course is essential for anyone venturing into the backcountry. Avalanches claim the lives of many every year. Be prepared and learn the basics of avalanche safety. Skills covered included using avalanche beacon and transceivers, assessing snow packs, route finding, and more. Day one will be classroom, day 2 in the field. Certificate will be issued at the end of the course. Cost includes: 2 days of instruction, books, use of safety and snow study equipment, and transportation to field location. An AST 1 certificate will be issued on successful completion.* You will need to bring adequate clothing and equipment for a backcountry ski tour (or snowshoes).

Intermediate to advanced players are encouraged to come as well to further your game strategy and play against new opponents for a more challenging game. Everyone welcome!

    A free public swim sponsored by the Town of Banff is held the last Sunday of every month at The Banff Centre's Sally Borden pool from 1-4 p.m.

  8. Get Out Family Drop-in Gym

    Bring your entire family to the BCHS gymnasium on Sunday nights and get active together. Play games like soccer, basketball, badminton or challenge your neighbours to a game of floor hockey. We invite you to bring your family and friends and come and play!
