The Lake Louise Audi FIS Ski World Cup features speed events on the World Cup circuit and will play host to the first downhill and Super-G races of the season. This is the only event of its kind in Canada. The men's downhill takes place on November 24 and the Super-G on November 25. The women take to the slopes November 30 and December 1 for the downhill races and December 2 for the Super-G races.

The first day consists of lectures on the characteristics of avalanches, the mountain snowpack, avalanche terrain and backcountry travel, as well as using avalanche transceivers. The second day is spent in the field (in the Bow Summit area) to cover how weather, snowpack and terrain interact to create avalanches and how to avoid them.
