Banff's Special Events

  1. Banff Farmers Market

    July 23, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM @ Central Park

    The Banff Farmers Market is held every Wednesday in the summer in Central Park. Find everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to artwork from local and regional producers.

  2. Dumbfounded by Nature: Outdoor Screenings in Central Park

    July 26, 9:00 PM - 11:00 PM @ Central Park

    The Walter Phillips Gallery and TRUCK Contemporary Art present an outdoor screening of videos that capture some of the most bizarre, surprising and astounding encounters with nature. Favourite viral videos submitted by the public will be shown alongside artist videos by Stefan St-Laurent, Yvonne Mullock, Brad Isaacs and more. The screening will take place on TRUCK’s CAMPER (Contemporary Art Mobile Public Exhibition Rig), a vintage motor-home, modified to become a mobile art space. Bring a blanket and curl up under the sky as we share our favourite encounters with nature that have been caught on video.

  3. Freedom of the Town Parade

    The Rocky Mountain National Cadet Summer Training Centre holds a parade down Banff Avenue in this annual event. This parade is a tradition that dates back to when the National Army Cadet Camp was located in Banff National Park.

    Want to get outside? Enjoy great music, a BBQ and play a little frisbee? Then come to Central Park and chill out at DJ in the Park, or you can volunteer. Smokies $3 or Hotdog $2

  2. SCRAMBLE: Mount Rundle

    July 26, 5:30 AM - 5:30 PM

    This is an iconic Banff Mountain; you haven't lived in Banff if you haven't climbed Rundle! You can expect the day to take 10 to 12 hours round trip. The climb is 6 km long and 1500 m elevation gain. These Mountain Adventure Programs (MAP) are specifically and exclusively for local young adults (18 - 30 years). You must be living or working in the Bow Valley to participate in any of these programs.

    Probably the most photographed peak in the Canadian Rockies! You can expect the day to take 10 to 12 hours round trip. This climb is about 8.5 km long and has 1300 m elevation gain. These Mountain Adventure Programs (MAP) are specifically and exclusively for local young adults (18 - 30 years). You must be living or working in the Bow Valley to participate in any of these programs.

  4. Monday Night Paddle on the Bow

    July 28, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Canoe Docks on Bow Avenue

    Canoeing on the Bow River is the quintessential Canadian activity, a peaceful way to explore Banff National Park! BanffLIFE will be heading out every Monday night to enjoy the peace and quiet of the Bow River. We would love it if you would join us.

  5. Zumba in the Park

    July 28, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Louis Trono Gazebo - Central Park

    What is better than an hour of great, incredible latin music, confidence boosting and liberating dance moves? Come join Esteban for this fun evening in the park! He promises a dynamic total body workout that will keep you coming back for more!

  7. Tunnel Tuesday

    Are you interested in participating in something fun, active and rewarding? BanffLIFE will be climbing Tunnel Mountain every Tuesday at 10 am. We will be meeting outside of Starbucks at 9:40 and walking over to the Trail Head.

  8. Tuesday Night Yoga

    July 29, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM @ (above the Library)

    This traditional approach to yoga encourages proper breathing, flexibility, strength and vitality in the body while calming the mind. This practice can benefit anyone, and yoga is a fun way to get seriously chilled out! NO YOGA the 4th Tuesday of every month

    Stories, song, dance and finger-plays suitable for 2-year-old children, 24-36 months, and their caregivers. This program is presented by the Banff Public Library.

    Rhymes, finger-plays, songs and lap bounces for infants 0-12 months and their caregivers at the Banff Public Library. Expectant parents are also invited to attend.

  5. Check Mate

    Play chess in a safe and comfortable environment. These evenings will provide beginners with an opportunity to learn the basics of chess; from your opening move to checkmate. Intermediate to advanced players are encouraged to come as well to further your game strategy and play against new opponents for a more challenging game. Everyone Welcome!
